Lucid Air Interior Guide: Space, Technology, and Luxurious Features
A New Era for Luxury EV Interiors
If you’re paying a hefty price tag for a luxury electric vehicle, it’s only natural to expect a cabin like that of a private jet. The Lucid Air delivers exactly that. Lucid Motors designed the electric motor and battery pack to be extremely compact and highly efficient, allowing the design team to maximize cabin space.
As a result, the interior boasts a surprisingly spacious feel, far exceeding what its exterior might suggest. From massive digital screens to environmentally conscious premium materials, the Lucid Air’s interior is designed to captivate both the driver and passengers.
Glass cockpit and infotainment system
The first thing that catches your eye when you sit in the driver’s seat is the huge curved display. Lucid calls this display the “glass cockpit.”
It’s a beautiful 34-inch, 5K resolution screen that appears to float right in front of you. The display is divided into three sections.
Left side: Control panel for operating the vehicle’s main functions, such as lights and wipers.
Center: Main digital instrument cluster displaying speed, driving range, and driver assistance functions.
Right side: Infotainment screen for media, navigation, and phone connectivity.
At the bottom of the dashboard is a tablet-style touchscreen called the “Pilot Panel.” This screen allows you to control the air conditioning, seats, and other vehicle settings. For a cleaner look, the Pilot Panel can be tucked away into the dashboard, revealing a hidden storage compartment behind it.
Seats, comfort, and premium materials
Lucid takes a unique approach to luxury by focusing on sustainable, high-quality materials. Depending on the model chosen, the cabin combines premium nappa leather, Alcantara, natural wood trim, and a premium alpaca wool blend.
The front seats offer advanced adjustments, and higher trim levels include seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The cabin is surprisingly quiet. Thanks to active noise cancellation and excellent sound insulation, road noise and wind noise are minimized, creating an ideal environment to fully enjoy the optional 21-speaker Surreal Sound Pro audio system.
Passenger space: Are the rear seats comfortable?
One of the biggest selling points of the Lucid Air is the spaciousness of its rear seats.
Because there is no large gasoline engine or transmission tunnel in the center of the vehicle, the floor is completely flat. This ensures excellent legroom for rear-seat passengers. Even adults over 180cm tall can sit comfortably in the back seat without their knees touching the front seats, making long drives much easier.
Cargo capacity: Regarding the space in the trunk and front trunk.
Practicality is just as important as luxury. The Lucid Air offers excellent storage space, divided into a rear trunk and a front trunk (commonly called the “frunk”).
Frank: Because there’s no engine under the hood, the Lucid Air has the largest furlong of any electric sedan currently on the market. It has about 10 cubic feet of space, enough to easily fit a large suitcase and several grocery bags.
Rear Trunk: The traditional rear trunk is a large, clamshell-type opening, making it easy to load and unload heavy items. It offers over 16 cubic feet of space.
Note: The exact cargo capacity may vary slightly depending on the model year and whether or not a premium audio system with a subwoofer installed in the trunk is included. Please be sure to check the official specifications from Lucid Motors for your specific model.
Overall review
The Lucid Air’s interior proves that switching to an electric vehicle doesn’t mean sacrificing space or comfort. With an industry-leading front trunk, ample rear legroom, and a beautiful glass cockpit, it offers one of the finest cabins in today’s luxury car market. Whether you’re on a long drive or commuting to the office, the Lucid Air is a comfortable space to behold.
